The Don’ts of SEO (After the June 2025 Core Update)
If you have been doing SEO, you’d know:ha sido un viajedifícil (it has been a roller coaster ride). The rankings of the websites move like waves, especially during the time of rolling out of core updates. Now that the updates have been rolled out, there are things that I want to share with you that will help.
SEO has evolved, and in my opinion, it has become more of what you should not do than what you should do. And to be honest, if you have done SEO and achieved some good results, you already know what is the right thing to do. The difference lies in what you need to avoid in order to take your results up from good to great. This is exactly what I will explore.
In the past few months, I have made some mistakes that cost me results, and if you want to dodge the same mistakes, read on to find out.
Before We Talk About the Don’ts of SEO
All of the things that you need to avoid will effectively improve the SEO of your website. In the process, you will be implementing some tips while avoiding the dangerous things. While you will take the necessary steps, there will be multiple things that might churn you out, make sure that your internet connection isn’t one of them.
I have long struggled with that – trying to find keywords, and what I got was an internet connection error. No dije mas (I said no more), and switched to OptimumInternet. In my experience, it has been one of the best internet providers for me because of its cost-effective plans, free WiFi hotspots to keep me connected on the go, and above all, servicio al cliente Optimum español customer service that is available 24/7 for Spanish speakers like me. So, do check it out.
Things You Need to Avoid to Do Great SEO
Now is the time to address the elephant in the room. The things that you need to avoid, and what you should do instead to improve your website’s SEO.
Don’t Over Rely on AI
First things first, you need to skip the over-reliance on AI.
I know it might be difficult to draw the line, but let me try to make it easy for you.
Here is the thing: whenever you publish content for Google, it will compare it side by side to the best-performing content. It will look for clarity, credibility, authenticity, and more of such things.
Now, I am assuming that you have created the content using only AI. The problem with AI is that it can’t think for its own, so when it creates the content, it is basically similar to the already existing content. If the content is similar to what already exists on Google, then why would it give you a ranking?
¿Entiendes mi punto? (Are you getting my point?)
I have experienced this firsthand. I purchased a domain and only put out the content that was AI-generated. Some of the content wasn’t even indexed, let alone ranked on Google.
Here is what you should do. AI is a perfect personal assistant if you know how to make it work. Choose the right set of prompts, and use it for ideation purposes. It will give you great ideas, find you content gaps, and help you tailor great content. Do use it in this way.
Don’t Write for Search Engines (Only)
This is the biggest mistake that people make while SEO-ing.
I know it is very easy to get into the pit hole because the problem is the search engine itself. When it is getting constant updates, you focus on the search engine. However, the search engine is focusing on the users, so why don’t you focus on the users as well?
Once the users become your priority, it will become game-changing. You won’t be affected by the updates because users trust you, and they will land directly on the website by typing in your domain.
How do you accurately prioritize the users? Let me explain that with an example: assume that you are writing a review on a phone. Instead of focusing on what search engine will do with your content, try asking the questions the readers might have. Once you put yourself in their shoes, half of the problem will be solved. Your focus will be diverted to the thing that matters the most – the users.
So, prioritize the users instead of the search engines.
Don’t Leave Your Content Unattended
Last but not least, keep your content updated. Your content might be performing great but there are more than enough websites ready to take your position.
So, what you should do is keep yourself and your content updated all the time. The thing is that technology and information are evolving every day. What was relevant yesterday might not be today. The theme follows your content as well. So, instead of believing and following si no estároto, no intentesarreglarlo (if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it), try keeping up with the market, and updating your content.
